Friends, I’ve decided Duck T. is a FAR better reviewer than I am, so here he is with his rating and review:

Lifetime’s first movie with gay protagonists? This duck gives a giant flippers up to that! Fran Drescher as Mum is an absolute ducking joy. She’s all heart and quite a bit of sparkle, and doesn’t need to be convinced of anyone’s validity. And she also impishly sets up her son up with his high school crush. Hugo (Ben Lewis) is a delightful character who must choose between the boy (Patrick played by Blake Lee) and the job. I’m also raising my beak-holes to Ellen Wong who plays Madelyn, Hugo’s best friend. Super-ducking awesome cast!
In this plot, there’s also some local activism—which always roasts my pondweed fritter—and the question of whether Hugo (Ben Lewis) will choose the boy or the job is obvious but no less duckworthy or enjoyable.
Flippers up! I was hooked (not cooked)! And apart from the fact that my best frenemy Mallard Jones kept hopping up and down in front of me, I’d have been 100% glued to the TV. Sparkling performances, lots of humor and heart, and a Christmassy backdrop. Super-ducking awesome!
Have a great one, friends.
